02 Day Training of Functionaries of Senior Citizen Home

Programme Information

  • Participants: Functionaries, caregivers and staff of Senior Citizen Homes

Background

The two-day training programme was organized to strengthen the knowledge and skills of personnel involved in the management and caregiving services of senior citizen homes. With the increasing need for quality elderly care services, the programme aimed to equip participants with practical understanding on institutional management, caregiving practices and psychosocial support for older persons.

Activities Conducted

During the programme, resource persons conducted sessions on various aspects of elderly care and institutional management. The sessions focused on improving participants’ understanding of the physical, emotional and social needs of senior citizens residing in care homes.

The major activities included:

  • Orientation on elderly care and active ageing
  • Sessions on health care, hygiene and nutrition for senior citizens
  • Discussions on communication skills and emotional support
  • Guidance on documentation, reporting and record maintenance
  • Awareness on safety measures and emergency preparedness
  • Group discussions and sharing of field experiences

Interactive participation and practical discussions helped participants gain better clarity on challenges faced in caregiving and methods to improve the quality of services in senior citizen homes.
