3-Day Training on Dementia Care & Management

Organized by: RRTC, Mission Foundation Movement
Date: 19th – 21st February 2026
Venue: Nabam Deepak Living Home Hall, Itanagar

Introduction

RRTC, Mission Foundation Movement organized a three-day training programme on Dementia Care & Management from 19th to 21st February 2026 at Nabam Deepak Living Home Hall, Itanagar. The programme aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen caregiving skills for supporting elderly persons living with dementia.

Objectives

  • To create awareness about dementia and its early symptoms
  • To build capacity of caregivers and community workers
  • To promote proper care and management of elderly persons
  • To encourage family and community support

Programme Highlights

Day 1:
Basic understanding of dementia including causes, symptoms, stages, and difference between normal ageing and dementia.

Day 2:
Practical sessions on caregiving techniques such as communication skills, behavioural management, nutrition, hygiene, and safety measures.

Day 3:
Sessions on community support, caregiver stress management, and available welfare services for senior citizens. The programme concluded with feedback and certificate distribution.

Participation

Caregivers, community volunteers, NGO representatives, and individuals involved in elderly care actively participated and shared their experiences during the training.

Outcome

The programme helped improve awareness and caregiving confidence among participants. It also promoted positive attitudes towards ageing and strengthened community involvement in dementia care.

Conclusion

The training programme was successfully conducted and achieved its objectives by enhancing knowledge and practical skills related to dementia care. RRTC, Mission Foundation Movement continues to promote awareness and capacity building programmes for the welfare of elderly persons.
