Calcutta Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology(CMIG) conducted a Health & Wellness camp along with an eye-checkup and free distribution of medicines & quilt to 150 marginalized senior citizens. The programme was organized in the remote areas of Udaynagar Char Colony in association with Jalangi Mohona Foundation,Murshidabad. 821 Senior Citizens availed our Health Check-up services. This is the first-ever Health Camp in this area. According to local denizens the nearest Gramin Hospital is 11 km away from the epicenter of our Health Camp activities. This Hospital is nearly inaccessible for older adults for it can be reached by crossing two tumultuous river streams. The entire area is under BSF Command as the Base is only 2 Km away from Bangladesh Border.
