In celebration of the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP), a free health clinic was organized by the Regional Resource Training Centre (RRTC) with financial support from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, it was held on on 10.07.2025 at Synod Conference Hall, Aizawl, Mizoram. The initiative was aimed at promoting the health and well-being of senior citizens by providing accessible and quality healthcare services.

A total of 189 senior citizens attended the clinic and benefitted from comprehensive health check-ups. The medical team comprised two qualified doctors, including specialists in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) and General Medicine, ensuring that a wide range of age-related health concerns were effectively addressed. In addition, a pharmacist and trained nursing professionals were present to assist with patient care, medication guidance, and basic health assessments.

The clinic provided an important platform for early detection and management of common health conditions among the elderly, while also raising awareness about preventive healthcare practices. The initiative was well-received by the participants and contributed significantly to improving health awareness and access to medical services for senior citizens in the community.
