The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE), together with the Calcutta Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology (CMIG) under the leadership of Director Dr. Indrani Chakravorty and Samagra Seva Kendra, Bihar, headed by Secretary Cheddi Peasad, conducted a series of programmes focused on enhancing the wellbeing of senior citizens and fostering stronger intergenerational bonds. One Day Awareness Programme on Health & Wellness for Senior Citizen was conducted with a comprehensive health camp at Kendua village, Barachatti, Bihar where elderly participants received essential health check-ups and medical consultations. Based on their individual diagnoses and requirements, necessary medicines were distributed, including Telvas 40 for blood pressure management, Bigonet 500 for diabetes care, A–Z multivitamin tablets for strengthening overall health, Deltanac-P for pain and inflammation relief, Clavan 625 as an antibiotic for infection control, and Calpol 500 for fever and mild pain. Rakesh Singh, Health Manager of Barachatti CHC, graced the occasion and extended his support to this community welfare initiative. Many older adults expressed their satisfaction, sharing that the doctor’s attentive approach and the time dedicated to understanding their health concerns made them feel truly heard and cared for.
